The gourmet hotel "Am Förthof" is a romantic country hotel in the Wachau region. We are proud to offer you many of this region's excellent wines. Besides, we are the only hotel in Krems located just a stone's throw away from the Danube.

Enjoy the comfortable, laid back atmosphere over lunch, relax in the shade of the romantic chestnut tree garden on hot summer days, and enjoy the view over the nearby river. Cool summer evenings are best spent on the lush flower terrace, served with a glass of excellent wine from the Wachau valley.

Special delights from Austria's cuisine are served in a light and creative manner. Fresh fish from regional and foreign lakes, regional meat products as well as mushroom and game dishes, and especially the delicious desserts will certainly please your taste buds. Gourmets will love it!

The FÖRTHOFER WEINKULINARIUM is a special feature of the house - a 6-course menu with 12 excellent wines from the Wachau valley. Other highlights are the WINE TASTING on the Danube as well as the SLEIGH RIDE to the wine estates of the Wachau.

The Krems vineyard excursion and the wine tavern buffet in a rustic wine garden house with view over the DANUBE river is the highlight of our Wachau hiking excursion program.

The comfort rooms are tastefully equipped, in pastel colours of blue, pink and yellow country house style.
