The community of Aurolzmünster has an old history.
The town was first mentioned in a document as early as 1150 AD.
Aurolzmünster received market rights in 1406. A splendid baroque castle was built here between 1651 and 1711. Until the early 20th century this castle was the community’s cultural and economic center. After WW II the town experienced an economic upswing and over the years has developed into a good location for businesses.
