Enzesfeld - Lindabrunn

 - Information & Lodging

The double community Enzesfeld-Lindabrunn has been created in 1970 through a voluntary merger of the two communities.

The two villages are located at the east end of the Alps, in between Baden and Wiener Neustadt, backed by the mountains and yet open to the plain of the Vienna basin and thus directly connected to motorway and train. Both villages emerged as Bavarian colonie settlements in the 11th century. For more than 800 years, the villages have been inhabitated by farmers and wine growers. Enzesfeld has first become an industrial location in the 20th century, however it has recently turned to be a popular secondary residence due to the proximity to the city of Vienna, whereas Lindabrunn has kept its rural origin. Lindabrunn has become known far across the regional borders on account of the international sculptor´s symposium and the sport school of the Lower Austrian football association. Enzesfeld has become known for its 18 hole golf court. Our community is connected to bike and mountain bike trails, offers possibilities to go riding, hiking and jogging, and disposes of 2 tennis clubs with altogether 5 tennis courts. Those interested in culture will find a romantic-gothic parish church in Enzesfeld, as well as a mansion (which is a poorhouse) with a gothic chapel dating back to the 14th century, in Lindabrunn it is a gothic church. The castle with pieces of a medieval fortress is privately owned.
