Fieberbrunn

Fieberbrunn: Variety of traditions

It is the contrasts that make Fieberbrunn special: Majestic mountains and gentle valleys, modern lifts and traditional huts, hearty Tirolean dishes and international cuisine. Fieberbrunn has approx. 4,300 inhabitants and is the largest community in the Pillerseetal valley in the Kitzbühel Alps. The city is named after the emerald lake which attracts water fans looking for some refreshment with its crystal clear water. Excursions to lake Lauchsee right next to Fieberbrunn, the spectacular lake Wildseelodersee or the panorama via ferrata called “Himmel & Henne” (sky & chicken) are suitable for the entire family. The three ski resorts Fieberbrunn, Buchensteinwand and Waidring/Steinplatte make the winter season in Fieberbrunn definitely as exciting as the summer time.

Skiing in Fieberbrunn

Fieberbrunn is also known as “the best hidden skiing area in the Alps”. If you spend your holiday in Fieberbrunn, you will find large slopes and demanding downhill rides away from mass tourism. Free riders, powder snow lovers and snowboarders especially like this place. More relaxed skiers who prefer “quality rather than quantity” enjoy skiing on 43 km of perfectly groomed slopes. There is also an exercise slopes (“Skiwiesn Lords”) right next to the base terminal and a fun park at the middle station. The hosts in the cozy mountain huts invite you to take a rest after some nice rides on corn snow slopes – Tirolean specialities await you, such as dumplings and Kaiserschmarrn (shredded pancakes). If the weather is good and the sun is out, why not enjoy your snack on the sun terrace in the middle of a unique mountain panorama. Finally, you can ski down to the valley in the afternoon with the last beams of sunshine.

Summer in Fieberbrunn: Nature Paradise in the Alps

Whether camping, staying in comfortable holiday apartments or luxurious hotels – if you spend your holiday in Fieberbrunn, you should simply not miss out on the following: A hike to lake Wildseelodersee – a unique nature paradise at 1,850 meters above sea level. The crystal clear Alpine lake can be reached via the Fieberbrunn panorama path – also suitable for families. Once on top, the lake is situated amid the peaks – enjoy some hearty snacks at the nearby Wildseeloder hut. In summer, great refreshment is also guaranteed at lake Lauchsee with its healthy moor water and the Aubad bath boasting a 65-meter long tunnel slide. Hiking fans will find about 150 km of well sign-posted walking and hiking paths in and around Fieberbrunn which take you from 800 m to 2300 m above sea level. A top destination – especially for families – is Timok’s pasture: Take “Timok’s Coaster” to get back to the valley. There is also an adventure path and a game preserve where fallow deer and fawns can be watched. At “Timoks Waldseilgarten” (high ropes course) divers skills are needed – who is brave enough to cross the shaking bar?
