The largest ski resort in the Zillertal valley and the Pinzgau area attract winter fans from the beginning of December until Easter and offer slopes located between 1,300m and 2,500m above sea level, 139 km of slopes and 51 modern lifts, such as the 6-seater Moseltret-X-Press with bubble and seat heating. The Arena Snow Park next to the Vorkogel lift in Gerlos was the first Boarder’s Playground in the Zillertal valley and is a true innovation and a freestyle paradise for free skiers and snowboarders. Whether you like skiing, cross-country skiing, tobogganing or winter hiking – the Zillertal Arena is the perfect destination for your winter holidays and fun in the snow.

Summer Season in the Mountains

Hiking tours, Durlassboden reservoir, Western riding, paragliding, cross-country skiing and Nordic Walking tracks, a high ropes garden as well as surf and sailing school activities promise great diversity during your holidays in Gerlos. It is the perfect starting point for active moments and sunshine – discover the diversity of summer. In spring, summer and autumn numerous lifts and mountain railways as well as the free hiking bus take mountain bikers and hikers a bit closer to the peaks.
The fresh spring water of the Durlassboden reservoir gets warmer during the summer months – the water temperature reaches approx. 21 degrees and is great for bathing, sailing, fishing and cruising across the lake in a paddleboat. Relax on the lawn at the lake with large playground and BBQ facilities or enjoy an idyllic walk around the lake where you have many options to stop by: Gasthof Finkau inn, Bärschlagalm pasture hut and the Seestüberl on the dam crest. The Riederklamm adventure park promises 100% adrenaline kicks – learn how to climb or improve your technique on various tracks for different ability levels. True highlights are the two Flying Fox routes which take you at 80 meters above the ground across the Riederklamm gorge.

Arrival & Address

If you come from Munich, take the A 12 motorway via Kufstein to the exit Zillertal (note: all motorway and dual carriageways within Austria subject to toll), then take the B 169 federal road to Zell am Ziller, there take the left turn-off to Gerlos. From Strass in Zillertal (Zillertal valley) approx. 40 km to Gerlos. Or via the Achenpass - exit Zillertal - further on as mentioned above.
Plan Route Now
From Munich via Kufstein to Jenbach. From there take either the "Zillertalbahn" train, or the bus to Zell am Ziller. Then take the post bus to Gerlos. A taxi ride from Jenbach will be about EURO 80 (1-2 persons) and from Zell am Ziller about EUR 40 (1-2 persons).
