The market municipality Göpfritz an der Wild is a small community in the heart of the Waldviertel. It comprises eight communities (Göpfritz, Merkenbrechts, Scheideldorf, Weinpolz, Breitenfeld, Almosen, Kirchberg und Schönfeld) as well as the Rotte Georgenburg and covers an area of around 6.000 hectares.
