Going am Wilden Kaiser

Holiday at the foot of Wilder Kaiser

Going am Wilden Kaiser is surrounded by the picturesque Wilder Kaiser mountains and the Kitzbüheler Alps – one of the most beautiful holiday destinations in Tirol. If you visit Going in winter, you can experience snowshoe hiking at full moon, idyllic cross-country skiing tracks, magic moments before Christmas and wide slopes – a true winter fairytale in Tirol. But Going also guarantees great holidays in summer – always providing unforgettable views of the majestic Wilder Kaiser mountains: Take a swim in the bathing lake in Going after a long hiking tour – especially after the Schleierwasserfall via ferrata as it is very demanding. The traditional Tirolean hospitality makes traditions come alive. Accommodations in Going include traditional farms as well as holiday apartments and hotels.

Sunshine&Snow: Holiday in Going am Wilden Kaiser

The first skiers enjoy skiing on the slopes in glittering snow, families have fun tobogganing down hills, the snow scrunches under your feet – all this happens with the majestic Wilder Kaiser mountains in view. In 2013, the SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser-Brixental was awarded best skiing resort worldwide for the fourth time in a row. If you spend your holiday in Going am Wilden Kaiser, you can have a lot of fun at Austria’s largest and most modern skiing resort: 91 mountain lifts provide access to a total of 280 km of slopes where snow is guaranteed. Furthermore, there are 70 mountain huts for a great stopover. The gentle landscape at the foot of the mountain massif is ideal for cross-country skiers – there are about 60 km of perfectly groomed tracks in this region. The Ellmauer Kaiserloipe and the Blattloipe tracks are particularly popular and both start in Going. Families enjoy skiing holidays here as there are ski schools, all-day child care and various hotels which have adjusted their offer to families – ideal for truly relaxing winter holidays.

Sunshine&Lakes: Holiday in Going am Wilden Kaiser

Ranging from hiking and golf holidays to holidays with the entire family: The small village of Going is located between the Kitzbüheler Alps in the south and the Wilder Kaiser mountains in the north. It only has about 1,900 inhabitants and is one of the smaller communities in Tirol, but Going am Wilden Kaiser is popular among hiking fans from Austria and abroad – this is due to a diverse network of hiking and mountain biking routes, numerous traditional huts, such as the Gaudeamus and the Gruttenhütte hut, as well as great excursions to crystal-clear bathing lakes in Going and the Achleiten or Multerkarwand via ferrata. Therefore, it is not a big surprise that the TV series “Der Bergdoktor” (The Mountain Doctor) was filmed in Going am Wilden Kaiser – fans of this series can also visit the house of the mountain doctor. However, the indisputable star in the area is the mystic Kaiser massif with its 100 km2, which includes the Wilder Kaiser and the Zahmer Kaiser mountains. There is something for action fans as well as for those looking for peace and quiet.
