Hochwolkersdorf

Welcome to Hochwolkersdorf! As not many people may know, the municipality Hochwolkersdorf is the birth place of the 2nd Austrian Republic. Dr. Karl Renner´s negotiation with the Sowjet people took place here in April 1945. These historic meetings are extensively documented in the "memorial room 1945". After a visit of this exhibition, a hiking tour through the beautiful landscape is recommendable, where you will have an unforgettable panoramic view over the Rax, Schneeberg, Wechsel and Hohe Wand mountains. There is also a facility on the Lusthausriegel to closely observe all the surrounding mountain tops.
