Embedded between the Gamsstein (1774 m), Voralpe (1770 m) and Köngisberg (1452 m) mountains, Hollenstein an der Ybbs features as the main village of the Lower Austrian nature park "Eisenwurzen".

The traditional regional cultural development of iron, wood and water are the features of this community at the Lower Austrian Iron Route.

In the hinter-land of the nature park, densely wooded gorges, rests of primeval forests, rocks and mountain tops build a harsh contrast to the wood moors full of flowers and lovely pastures.

Especially for the sporty guests, the nature park "Eisenwurzen" offers well marked mountain bike routes of a total length of about 300 km as well as an extensive network of hiking paths with various levels of difficulty.
