Jerzens

Holiday on the sun terrace of the Pitztal valley

The holiday region of Jerzens is a true Tirolean highlight at the entry of the Pitztal valley. The picturesque village is located between 1,100 and 1,450 meters above sea level at the foot of the Hochzeiger skiing and hiking area and offers stunning views of the surrounding mountains. The hospitality in the Pitztal valley and the mountain panorama make the hearts of nature lovers leap for joy. The stone pine exhibition informs visitors about the versatile world of this kind of wood and animates them to show more interest for the natural and cultural treasures in Tirol. Jerzens used to be the highest located growing area in Tirol for grain maize, and despite the fact that the mill was abandoned, it is still used every summer to grind corn and bake bread in order to show guests what traditional work was like.

The cross-country tracks are 70 km long and take you through the entire Pitztal valley. The skiing area also has a black slopes named after the ski star Benni Raich, who was born here. Another black slope is the 2-km-long Zirbenfall slope – it is one of the steepest slopes in Tirol. Sports fans will agree that the skiing area well deserves the quality seal for its slopes and snowboard facilities. The 6-km-long tobogganing track starts at 2,000 meters above sea level next to the mountain station of the Hochzeiger gondola and promises great fun amid snow off the slopes. A very special highlight is the night-time tobogganing fun with floodlit tracks every Thursday.
