The Tirolean Herbal Village in Allgäu
“A piece of Tirol in Allgäu” – this is what the locals say about their hometown Jungholz. The Tirolean municipality is located on a sunny plateau surrounded by Bavarian fir trees. The Austrian exclave is only connected to Austrian territory at the border section at Sorgschrofen-Berg. The place is a small but nice winter sports area. Holidays in Jungholz guarantee happy moments amid snow – especially for families: There are easy as well as intermediate slopes, four T-bar lifts and two child-safe chairlifts which take young and old skiing fans to the top of the mountain. And there is a lot more to do in summer: The rock pool, the alphorn concerts and lake Haldensee at 1124 meters above sea level are good reasons for an excursion – as well as the majestic mountains in the Tannheimertal valley.
Happy (Skiing) Time between Bavaria and Tirol

Families and beginners in particular will like the small Jungholz skiing area: Skiing fans ski down into the valley on a great mix of easy and intermediate slopes. Four T-bar lifts and two child-safe chair lifts (4 seats) guarantee comfortable ascents. A unique highlight for the little ones is the “N’Ice Bear Land”, where “ski dwarfs” can discover the snow in a playful way. Two magic carpets take small skiers to the starting point of the first exercise slope, accompanied by experienced skiing instructors of the ski school. The Jungholz ski rental facilities provide guests with everything they need for great skiing pleasures between Bavaria and Tirol – ranging from helmets to skies. The Tannheimertal valley with its 140 km of cross-country tracks and a maximum of 50 meters in altitude difference is also known as cross-country skiing paradise. One of the most popular routes is the round track through the Vilsalpsee nature resort, which convinces with its snow-covered peaks and majestic mountain panorama.
