Klaus an der Pyhrnbahn

 - Information & Lodging

The charming municipality of Klaus comprises several settlements and hamlets and has a total population of approx. 1,200 inhabitants.

Klaus’ reservoir offers a wide range of water activities including boating, fishing, scuba diving and bungee jumping from the damn, nearby Lake Elisabethsee offers great swimming and camping, and there are beautiful cycling and hiking trails along the shore of River Steyer and into Brunnental.
If history is to be believed Empress Sisi spent some time hiking in Steyrling – and if this is not true you can still enjoy the region’s untouched scenic beauty. A visit to Klaus’ Poachers Museum is best followed by a special venison dish in one of the surrounding inns.
