Welcome to Mils

Although not far away from the buzzing medieval town of Hall, Mils is far more relaxed. Mils boasts a rich history. Archeological finds show that Mils was inhabited as early as in Roman times. In the early Middle Ages, this small village was an important stop on the only road leading to the lower Inntal valley. Part of the village’s wealth was assembled through mining. The miners came to Mils in the 16th century and had a church built to commemorate their patron saint St. Anna. This church was fitted with a beautiful depiction of the Mount of Olives. Today, Mils is a true recreational wonder, with many hiking trails, interesting cycling routes in summer, and cross-country ski tracks and a floodlit tobogganing run in winter. Mils is also a thriving center of musical activity – Oswald Milser Choir is one of Tirol’s most famous choirs. Mils’s Day Spa, the first of its kind in Tirol, is another great place to relax.
