Mountaineering in Montafon

  • The Montafon area is home to 17 peaks of 3000 meters or more. The impressive peaks in the Verwall and Rätikon mountain ranges and the glacier fields in the Silvretta mountains ensure a memorable mountain experience.
  • 12 lifts and cable cars offer hassle-free access to the world of mountains. The top station of the Hochjochbahn in Schruns, for instance, is the trailhead of tours to Zamangspitze.
  • A Trek in the Silvretta mountains, from Ischgl to Gargellen, takes several days and is highly popular among experienced mountaineers. The tour may be tackled in several stages.
  • It takes experience, stamina and proper equipment to climb such challenging peaks as Piz Buin, Zimba and Dreiländerspitze. Once up there, you will be rewarded with breathtaking views of the Montafon mountains, though.
