Winter time in Münichreith - Laimbach
The double-community lies in the south-western part of the Waldviertel, at the foot of the Ostrongs with its highest elevation, the Peilstein (1061m).
The communiy Münichreith-Laimbach comprises the main villages Münichreith am Ostrong and Laimbach am Ostrong and is about 25 km from the district capital Melk.
The southern Waldviertel offers ideal preconditions for a
peaceful winter holiday. Cross country skiing is possible in the neighbour community Gutenbrunn/Bärnkopf. The adjoining Yspertal valley provides you with the possibility of ice skating or curling at the Puschacher pond. The endless snow-clad woods invite you to relaxing winter walks.
