Neumarkt is located at the left bank of the Ybbs, the unique fauna and flora of the Ybbs woods invite you to go for a stroll and the new adventure and leisure time facility invites you to go swimming and to unwind during the months of summer.

Tomb findings of the early Bronze Age are a testimony to the fact that the history of the village dates back to ancient history.

The oldest official mentionning of the village was in 1220 as "novum forum".
