At no other time of the year, Raab sees the celebration of this many traditional and solemn festivities than during wintertime. The festival season kicks off in late November with the Christmas markets, installed at Schatzlgasse alley and at the local authority building, and held in the afternoons and evenings from Advent until the holiday itself.

Every year in January and February, Raab is the setting for crazy carnival antics. The colorful celebrations are characterized by music, dancing, the wearing of masks, masked parades and a general joie de vivre. Every two years the local Narraabia carnival guild organizes grand parades.
