Ringelsdorf is situated some way away from the March woods at the Zaya river. Apart from the main street, the village still shows interesting examples of the 11th century - a bavarian settlement of bavarian colonists. The Zaya was once very much dreaded because of its floods, today, it is tamed, only a few mills, partly dilapidated, are a testimony to its past. In Ringelsdorf, you can find the largest connected grassland of Europe. The beautiful "large meadows" are a true example for a March grassland.
The humid regions of the bird.show.places are being tended as bird sanctuary since the year 1998. Up to now, more than 200 bird species have been observed by internationally significant ornithologists. From the first weekend in July on, you can watch the Ornithologists enringing the birds.
