Rosalia

Burg Forchtenstein castle, sitting high up on a dolomite rock, is one of the oldest cultural monuments of the Rosalia region. Built already in the 13th century it was acquired by the Esterházy family in 1622 and is now open to visitors from April to the end October.
The churches also tell of the riding folks from the east. There are lots of legends dealing with the many wayside shrines of the region. They were often built by common people in remeberance of exceptional events or loved ones.
