The Lasörling and Venediger High Path are ideal for a hut tour with a stunning panorama. A diversified walk in the valley takes you along the Isel river to Mitteldorf. A beautiful round walk takes you along forest paths, through mossy woods and past flowering meadows. The Walking Arena Virgental offers something for all ability levels due to its numerous and attractive round tracks. The well sign-posted tracks help guests to stay on the right path.
On a walk through the village, you will understand why Virgen was awarded the most beautiful flower village in Europe. The pilgrimage church Maria Schnee is also worth seeing. The late Gothic building is one of the most remarkable churches in Osttirol. An old tradition – the “Virger Opferwidder” has been preserved until now in remembrance of a plague in the 17th century. This tradition includes selling a ram decorated in white colors by auction for charity reasons – it is no longer made a sacrifice as it used to be earlier on.
