Würflach

 - Information & Lodging

The village Würflach comprises 3 village parts: Würflach, Hettmannsdorf and Wolfsohl. It is located around 65 km southwest of Vienna at the edge of the Vienna basin and the Steinfeld. The altitude is 436 m; 1 500 people live here. A bus goes to Neunkirchen and Wr. Neustadt. Those two towns are also the closest train stations along the southern railway. From the neighbouring village Willendorf (1,5 km), the Schneeberg train leads to Wiener Neustadt and Vienna as well as to Puchberg and up the Hochschneeberg mountain. Our village lies in the "landscape conservation area Johannesbachklamm". The lovely gorge starts next to Würflach and is cut in between the villages Eichberg and Dürrenberg. It was made walkable for the first time in 1902, destroyed a few times by the wild waters but always rebuilt. It is mainly an excursion target close to town. You can easily cross it on bridges and narrow paths. Banks invite you to sit down and have a small snack. A few well marked circle hiking paths lead through the Johannesbachklamm. One loves to meet there with friends for a fine drink and a substantial snack.
