In winter the longest downhill piste of the Eastern Alps (16 km) makes Werfen a paradise for fans of ski mountaineering. Werfen is the ideal starting point for your winter holiday.
The historic market town of Werfen is surrounded by the most beautiful ski areas. Within a radius of 25km you'll find more than 100 ski lifts and many cross-country skiing slopes. Only 12 minutes by car (8km) are the ski lifts of the Ski-Board-Arena Werfenweng, which can also be reached easily by ski shuttle bus. With only one ski pass you can enjoy borderless skiing in the Salzburger Sportwelt Amadé. 860km of slopes and 270 lifts invite to enjoyable skiing. You stay in the quiet and picturesque Werfen and reach the ski resort of the Skiverbund Amade the following way: Hochkönigs Winterreich in Mühlbach: 18km, Alpendorf Bergbahnen: 21km; Flachau: 30 km, Flachauwinkel: 35 km; Zauchensee: 37 km; Wagrain: 26 km; Großarl: 39 km; Schladming: 49 km; Bad Hofgastein: 46 km; Bad Gastein: 53 km; Dorfgastein: 38 km; Altenmarkt: 26 km. The glacier ski areas are within easy reach: Kaprun-Kitzsteinhorn: 57km; Obertauern: 50km.
Exercise lift for beginners is the Zehenthof lift in Pfarrwerfen (2,5km away) - a 400m long T-bar lift.
