Hochpustertal has no fewer than three family-friendly skiing areas. The largest one is the Thurntaler area near Sillian. There you will find pistes for all ability levels, with snow cannons, sunny slopes and a view of the iced Dolomites mountain range.
The smaller areas, Obertilliach and Kartitsch are perfectly suited to beginners and offer cheaper deals!
Cross-country ski lovers will be delighted to hear that there is 120 km of slopes throughout the region. Once you have experienced cross-country skiing in our beautiful region (especially in the Tirolean Gailtal between Kartitsch, Obertilliach and Untertilliach) you will never want to practise your favourite sport anywhere else anymore!
Ski tours are also becoming more and more popular, because of the marvellous alpine valleys, plateaus and mountain ranges, where you can enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of life in the Alps. Top spots are the Villgraten valley and the Carnic Alps.
