Sillian is located at an elevation of 1,103 meters. It is the main town in Osttirol's Hochpustertal Valley.

Nestled between the world-famous South Tirolean and Lienz Dolomites, Sillian is the gateway to the Tirolean Hochpustertal.
With 2,100 inhabitants, Sillian is one of the largest communities between the towns of Lienz and Bruneck. It has accommodation to suit every visitor (1,200 beds).
