– this verse from Mozart’s Magic Flute is perfect for describing the variety of sound that can be enjoyed at the Haslach Sound Factory. In atmospheric rooms visitors learn about the historic and technical details of these sounding marvels. Quotes that are presented with a wink and selected music samples from the past from all over the world tell of different moods and possibilities.
A tour of this nostalgic world of extravagant orchestras, delicate bell clocks, rattling and lovingly decorated barrel organs, elegant phonographs and original pianos is a feast for eyes and ears alike.
Many of the about 150 juke boxes of the sound factory, that were acquired by the Provincial Government of Upper Austria from Haslach-based collector Erwin Rechberger, are bizarre and extravagant in their getup.
