The picturesque vineyards of Krems cover an area of around 1,000 ha. It is in the Wachau Valley where you find the finest wines, appreciated by wine connoisseurs from Austria and abroad. Come and enjoy a stroll through the vineyards, and then visit a Heurigen to have a glass or two of fine Austrian wine.
Krems is especially famous for its excellent white wines:
Grüner Veltliner
This peppery, fruity and spicy wine has an international reputation.
Riesling
The Riesling is the second most cultivated wine of Krems. It has a charming bouquet with hints of peaches, apricots and citrus fruit.
