Amstetten

District capital of the western part of Lower Austria, administrative and economic centre of the alpine upland and the Mostviertel region; excellent location at the intersection of train and highway routes, direct connection to the Western highway A1 and the Danube, gateway to the marvellous valley of the Ybbs and to the Gesäuse mountain national park.
