The Rosalia region lies at the eastern slope of the Rosalia range, nestled into the soft-rolling hills of the countryside - a place to relax and unwind.
Large, agricultural areas have kept their peace and quiet as well as their naturalness, wide areas are marked as nature park. The strawberry, wine, chestnut and all other kind of fruits gave this region the name "Sweet region". Burg Forchtenstein is a living cultural center of the region High above on a dolomite rock in the heart of the Roslia range lies this former impressive fortress against the east. The exhibition of ancestors is the largest baroque family and ancestral gallery of middle Europe - a joyful journey through the history of this large princely family.

Eventful history The old customs house at the village entrance of Neudörfl reminds of the historic border between Austria and Hungary, that lasted for approx. 1,000 years. Here the Rosalia bike trail starts (B32) that connects Neudörfl to Mattersburg.
Idyllic, woody landscape The soft-rolling landscape of the Rosalia region offers a multitude of fauna and flora a wonderful habitat. Chestnut groves, vineyards, fruit orchards and large meadows characterize the landscape. Lovers of hiking and sports find an intact environment for fun and exercise in the open countryside. Cure and Health The health resort of Bad Sauerbrunn has been offering recreation and relaxation for more than 100 years now. During the last years this traditional cure center has developed into a modern health center. 3 natural remedies - the healing waters from the thermal spa, the sour water rich in magnesium and the carbonic acid dry gas are in the center of cure treatments. Numerous villas from the 19th century characterize the village, in the "Rosarium" you'll find a great number of various roses around the rose-colored marble fountain.

Hiking, cycling, nordic walking Wonderful cycling and hiking trails invite to voyages of discovery. Go nordic hiking on 17 different routes and test different lengths and levels of difficulty. Five mountain bike routes tempt the sporty mountain biker.
Sweet region Extensive fruit and wine cultures gave this region its name. Every year during the traditional Ananas churchfair in Wiesen, the oldest strawberry village of Austria, the election and coronation of the Ananas queen takes place. In 2007 the "Wiesener Ananas Erdbeeren" have been awarded with the seal GENUSSREGION ÖSTERREICHS.
Great open-air concert: at the Jazzfest a great number of stars entertained the enthusiastic crowd and with "Sunsplash" a bit of Woodstock atmosphere and Caribbean romance was brought into the Burgenland.
Icelandic horses and more The Rosalia region is a popular meeting point for lovers of horses - a number of riding stables offer training for horse and rider plus rideouts into the surrounding region.
ROSARIUM in Bad Sauerbrunn The "Rosarium" is a park landscape integrated into the cure park with a lot of colors, smells and special details. You'll find English bush roses, crimson ramblers and old and historic bush roses. In the middle of the rose garden lies the rose fountain. Numerous roses wind around the 4,5 t heavy stone of rose-colored marble. Around the fountain are tea, floribunda and rose patches. In addition you'll find a rose arbor of love, a rose trail of fragrances for blind persons, rose umbrellas and obelisks.
Rosarium Bad Sauerbrunn
Already at the beginning of the 20th century Sauerbrunn had a vista point that was a favorite outing destination for all guests. The new point lies at the western edge of the village of Bad Sauerbrunn in the center of hiking paths, nordic walking routes and mountain bike tracks. Its architecture is truly unique: a spiraling staircase winds around a 100-year-old trunk in 133 steps to a height of 25 meters. From the platform you'll have a phantastic view of the Rosalia mountains and the Neusiedler See lake.
