The municipality Kirchberg am Wagram has been an economic, cultural and religious regional centre for many centuries already.
The community area can be subdivided into 4 major natural landscapes, which cover the area from the highlands of the Wagram country down to the lowlands of the Danube flood plains.
The loess-covered Wagram country north of Kirchberg, created in the time of the last ice age, offers excellent geological conditions for wine growing. A prominent step is the transition to the field plains underneath, whose stone accumulations have been covered by fertile black earth grounds. The adjacent Danube field is equally being farmed and part of the flood plains.
Significance across the local borders has been achieved in the late middle-ages. The impressing houses around the market square give testimony to the great past of the village.
