Wooden church in Schwarzenbach At the pilgrim path of the Pielachtal
The ancient pilgrimage path from Schwarzenberg to Annaberg leads past 2 caves that are called "wet" and "dry" hole. Shortly afterwards, the pilgrim will see the "Wooden Church".
According to the legend, Maria and Joseph have passed here with their child on their flight from Egypt, where Maria has left her footprint in the stone.
Source water collecting in the imprint is said to heal eye problems. Some also claim that not Maria has left her footprint, but the donkey who carried her.
What is "Nix"? The Nix cave can be found about 1 km outside of Frankenfels and is one of the most beautiful natural monuments.
Worth seeing are the dripstone formations (like for instance the Madonna, the cascade fall, the fairy-tale lakes, and many more), a visit is in any case worth it and will leave you with an unforgettable experience.
Guided tours are possible from the 1st of May until the 26th of October.
