Altenfelden is in a beautiful hillside location on the edge of the Bohemian Forest, between the two rivers of Kleine Mühl and Große Mühl, and offers sweeping views of the scenic surroundings.
Altenfelden’s main attraction is its Game Park which draws some 55,000 visitors every year. The 80-hectar Park is home to 850 animals.
Horse riding and driving has a long tradition in Altenfelden. The town’s horse riding farms offer 50 horses for guests to ride.
The horse trails and footpaths between Kleine Mühl and Große Mühl allow you to explore the scenic beauty of the Upper Mühlviertel region.
