Border crossers, flood plains and bird friends, bon vivants and wine specialists:
A warm welcome to the March-Thaya-woods!
Flood plains and exclusive wines
Gently rolling wine hills and romantic cellar lanes. As a contrast: primeval forests and old mystic river sidearms. A paradise. Not only for birds and beavers - also for adventure-hungry cyclists. There is a lot to discover, watch and taste. Great views delight eyes and soul.
Two flood plains, two worlds
The March-Thaya flood plains form part of the most beautiful and interesting riverside landscapes of Middle Europe, and they are still a secret tip!
For a long time this treasure of nature at the border between the East and the West was hidden: The iron curtain was built straight through the March.
Today, people can move freely again - and they enjoy it: Not only bridges and cycling paths link the two shores, also shared festivals play a role.
