Welcome to Pinswang

Thanks to its close proximity to Germany this small village assumed historical importance. Today, 900 years after the first people settled here, sunny and sleepy Pinswang (421 inhabitants) consists of the two districts Oberpinswang and Unterpinswang. The lover of fine scenery will find landscapes to perfection at almost every turn.

Old traditions are still cherished here by young and old alike. In the past pilgrims used to come here to visit Blessed Brother Ulrich. In 1725 a beautiful baroque church was built on top of his grave. Old and mystical ruins around Pinswang invite you to go on a journey of discovery. Our lovely village is a true paradise on earth where you can relax and recharge your batteries.

Numerous outing destinations

Pinswang’s close proximity to Germany makes it an ideal base from which to explore the Bavarian King’s Castles Neuschwanstein, Hohenschwangau and Linderhof, Wieskirch church, Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Oberammergau and Mittenwald.

Also well worth a visit are Ettal monastery, the regional capital Innsbruck (twice the venue of Olympic Winter Games) , and Austria’s only wood carving school in Elbigenalp. Enjoy exceptional panoramic view on the three passes drive of the Fernpass, the Arlberg and the Flexenpass.

Welcome to Pinswang

Here, ancient customs are still alive, such as the "Witch burning". The pilgrimage church, consecrated to St Ulrich, was built in 1725 by famous architect Johann Fischer. The old, mystic ruins invite visitors to explore the area of Pinswang and to take a journey back into ancient times. Pinswang is a special place and destined to become your home-away-from home.
