"Smokehouse" Mühlgrub -

History:

This kind of farmhouse is called "Einhof" because all functions of a farm are combined in one building. With 500 years age it is the eldest in Salzburg which is still on the same place. It was inhabitated until 1983! The name smokehouse is based on the kind of construction - there was no chimney and so the smoke had to leave the house over the rooms. Therefore the house smells smoky and is black all about.
The "Rauchhaus" is situated on a mountain ridge between Thalgau and Hof and is imbedded very romantic in an old fruit orchard.

Sightseeing

A special holiday-event is a guarded tour through the "Smokehouse" Mühlgrub!

Tour:
from july - october, on friday at 15.00 o`clock
Coast: adult € 1,50 (with guestcard € 1,00)
children € 1,10 (with guestcard € 0,60)

Fishery Schloss Fuschl

A lot of different fishes are domestic in this lake. And the owner of the licenses is Schloss Fuschl only. If you are interested ask Gerhard - he is the "fishmaster" - he can tell you a lot about the water and its residents. After the lesson take a break and enjoy the fresh smoked fish.
