Winter walking

Cleared walking paths and hiking trails take you to the region's most beautiful spots.

Magic winterwonderland in Imst-Gurgltal - Imst-Gurgltal Tirol

Guided walking tours are scheduled from mid December through late March. Romantic moments at their finest! Learn more about the must-sees and must-dos in the area over a nice drink.

The best-loved winter walking routes include the following:

Nuireith tour in Hoch Imst (walking time approx. 1 hour)

Hoch-Imst - Linserhof - Hoch-Imst (walking time approx. 2 hours)

Imst - Tarrenz - Strad and return (walking time approx. 3 hours)

Hoch-Imst - Latschenhütte - Hoch-Imst (walking time approx. 3.5 hours; tip: take a toboggan with you)

Hoch-Imst - Gunglgrün - Hoch-Imst (walking time approx. 2 hours)

Obtarrenz - Glöck (walking time approx. 1 hour)

Karres - Karrösten tour (walking time approx. 1.5 hours)

Imsterberg village tour (walking time approx. 1,5 - 2 hours)

Schönwies village tour - Lasalterstraße (walking time approx. 1 hour)

Tobogganing

Tobogganing is fun for the whole family, and it is up to you if you want to walk up the mountain or take the lift.

Sledding night, Imst-Gurgltal, Tyrol - Imst-Gurgltal Tirol

The wider Imst region offers a total of eight natural toboggan tracks, each of which is located near a mountain restaurant. Toboggans are available for hire at the ski school and from many hotels and guesthouses.

Untermarkter Alm toboggan track, 4 km, illuminated from 6.30pm to 0.30am
Moonlight tobogganing and music and dance every Wed and Sat (lift operates until 9.30pm)
The track is also illuminated on Friday nights (until 0.30am), however, the ski lift is not in operation.

'Home' of Angy Eiter (world champion) and Bettina Schöpf (European champion and youth champion)!
NEW since 2010: Covered outdoor climbing wall (1,100 m²) with a height of 18 m

Top routes for beginners and experienced climbers. Great venue for championships and competitions. Routes are changed regularly by Sabine Knabl, Christian Scheiber, Jorg Verhoeven, Aljosa Grom and Erwin Marz.

Approx. 100 routes, levels 2- to 10+, length: 28 m, height: 22m
915 m² for lead and top rope climbing, 216 m² boulder area

Day ticket: EUR 8.30 per adult, EUR 7 per teen, EUR 4.80 per child
12-hour ticket: EUR 42 per adult, EUR 32 per teen, EUR 23 per child
10-day card: EUR 78 per adult, EUR 65 per teen, EUR 43 per child
Groups of school children or students, annual and half-year passes, family tickets - please ask!
Teens 12 - 17 years, children 6 - 11 years

Taster climbing: possible every day by prior arrangement!
EUR 25 (3 h) including admission, instruction and equipment; sign up at the Tourist Office or in the climbing hall.
