The Alpine Flower Garden on the Hahnenkamm was laid out by a group of idealists of the Reutte Mountain Rescue Service in 1976. The botanically ideal location made growing rare plants possible.
Preserving the original landscape, they managed to grow the plants in ideal habitats such as rocks, boulders, etc. The whole area comprises six hectares of grass-covered ground located above the Reutte Bergbahnen cable railway in the area of the Höfener Alpe on the Hahnenkamm mountain.
