Father Leonhard Roth, born May 28, 1904 in Saldenburg (Lower Bavaria), died June 22, 1960 in Braz (Vorarlberg).

He altruistically sacrificed himself for his fellow human beings. However at the end he did not have enough power to withstand the attacks of his opponents who did not want a memorial site in Dachau.
It's unclear how Father Roth spent the last days of his life. His mysterious death has been the occasion for many speculations. The priest's body, who had been missed since June 22, 1960, was found on August 15 by Hubert and Richard Lorünser from Braz. They discovered the body underneath the cirque of Zwölferkopf Mountain in a small forest 1400m above sea level. Leonhard Roth was burried on August 19, 1960 in Braz cemetery according to his last will. His friends from Dachau build a chapel in Braz in memoriam of Father Roth, who has been considered a saint by many people.
