Delightful friendly B&B with easy access to the city
To anyone sick of the conformist, impersonal hotels so common in big cities, I would unreservedly recommend The Rooms in Vienna. The family strike just the right balance between ...

... friendliness and respecting your privacy. The atmosphere is relaxed and the rooms are lovely. You're in a leafy suburb but the metro station is close by and central Vienna quick and easy to get to. If I visit Vienna again I will stay here.

a cozier way to stay in Vienna
was in Vienna with family on a personal visit - "the rooms" was a much cozier alternative to the business all-look-alike hotels.

The rooms .... Vienna's only b & b at the lovely Old Danube river

.
.
4 rooms, each one different and individually decorated with charm and lots of attention to detail. The interior of the bed and breakfast is a potpourri of different styles, with many decorations found on our travels. And so you can sleep either romantic Moroccan, colorful Mediterranean, relaxing Asian or inspirational Indian.

Breakfast .... A large teak table from Indonesia whereall guests meet in the morning. Our highly praised granola is homemade, also the jams made partly from the fruits of the garden are not to be despised. Apricot with lots of rum, cinnamon and cardamom, quince with pumpkin and rosemary or strawberry with lavender: Hmmmmh! The café comes from Lago di Garda, Lucafe, which produces delicious coffee for our little red espresso machine. Guests who order a cappuccino usually have a second one.... An egg dish will be freshly made to order. Breakfast is served on hand made plates and bowls from Israel, cut with the special copper utensils from India and drunk from teacups made in small potteries in Japan. Everything blends in harmony together.

Jogging, swimming, sailing, surfing, biking, inline skating, taking a walk, - everything possible next to the Old Danube, Vienna's most beautiful recreational area just around the corner. And in the evening enjoy the sunset over dinner at one of several restaurants right on the water, sitting on the floating wooden deck. Or enjoy a picnic in a rented boot, on full moon you get a free bottle of sparkling wine for the way.

Parking is not an issue with us, free of charge on the street in front of the b & b. The subway runs all night on weekends and usually by the minute during the day, and the best thing, the next station is only a 3 minute walk from the bed & breakfast away. And wifi is available everywhere in the house. Also on our terrace.

Location & Getting There

The subway station Kagran is just a 2 minute walk away from the rooms. By train one can reach the Austria Center and the Vienna International Center within 2 minutes, the city center Stephansplatz just within 9 minutes.
Plan Route Now
with the subway line U1 to Kagran, from there it is a 5 minute walk
From the airport you can take the bus (Vienna Airport Line) going to Kagran (about 30 minutes). The bus leaves always at 10 minutes past the hour. Alternatively you can take the train to Wien Nord/Praterstern, there is a train every half an hour. This takes about 35 minutes. At Wien Nord/Praterstern change to subway line U1 and go to Kagran (5 stops).

From the Kagran subway station it is a 5 minute walk to our house. Since the street is very small and most likely no one would know it, I recommend taking one of those free maps of Vienna at the train station.

On arrival at Kagran Station it is important to take the back exit towards Anton Sattler Gasse - once out of the station turn right into the small lane and at the end of this lane you will come to Donizettiweg - turn right and the second street on the left (Schlenthergasse) is where you will find The Rooms, at No. 17.

The bus costs € 7,-- per person, € 12,-- round trip
The train and subway cost € 3,60

The fastest way to the rooms is by taxi (only 15 minutes). I can preorder a cab for you at a flat rate of EURO 32,--. Just let me know...
