The wide Felbertauern road with its 5.3km long tunnel leads from Mittersill via the Hohen Tauern to Osttirol. Osttirol is a region circled by mighty Alpine ranges, including the Lienz Dolomites and the Carnic Alps. Drive along windy roads through the incredibly scenic Lesachtal valley or take the panorama road through the Pusteral for first-class touring experiences.
This road was always more a panorama road than road link. Today it is exclusively used for outing purposes.

Enjoy the most beautiful moments of the year amid Osttirol's stunning Alpine scenery.
A perfect place to relax and unwind, to forget the hustle and bustle of everyday life and to restore new energies: the high Alpine pastures and lush green meadows can be found throughout Osttirol!
During the Fifties and Sixties many of the high Alpine pasturelands and mountain huts were abandoned due to the increasing motorization. Sometimes a single dairyman was responsible for a great variety of huts and pastures. Today, the high Alpine regions of Osttirol have been made accessible to tourists who love the simple life on a mountain farm with cold running water, an oven for boiling the water, some cups and plates, and very rustic bedrooms.
Innervillgraten's quaint mountain huts grew with the landscape they inhibit and form part of the region's history. The most famous one is Oberstaller Alm but there are plenty other mountain huts well worth visiting: Unterstaller Alm, Kamelisen Alm, Prantekammern, Alfenalm, Schmidhof-Alm, Oberhoferalm and Lipperalm are places where you should be quiet, listen to the local's making music, and soak up the atmosphere.
