Mountain Herb Trail: this 13-kilometer long trail starts at the Herb Gate just above the center of town and is lined with several “Scent Troughs”. The partly steep path takes you to the Herb Garden which boasts over 150 different medicinal and culinary herbs. Guided tours are available for groups as well as horse-drawn carriage rides through herb fields.
There is a Herb Shoppe near the rural furniture museum where you can purchase different herb-based products, gifts, souvenirs etc.
Production of this wonderful country furniture, including chests, cabinets, tables, key cabinets, benches, and beds, reached its peak in the early 19th century. Today these beauitfully painted pieces of furniture are a popular collectors' items.
