Idyllic Sandl is embedded in an area of outstanding natural beauty at an elevation of 927 meters above sea level. Farmland and open space form a continuous landscape, with a mosaic of woodlands and small fields. Especially in the spring and in the autumn, this area lends itself to outstanding hiking with uninterrupted panoramic vistas. And during the warmest months it´s just the right place to escape from the summer´s heat. Sandl is especially popular for its varied history of glass painting that is perfectly demonstrated at the lovingly decorated Museum Of Glass Painting.

Winter walking allows you to get away from it all and enjoy the serenity of the great outdoors and unspoilt nature in abundance. When the lovely scenery is all blanketed in snow, you can glide through the snow laden forests on cross country ski trails. Sandl in the winter offers a wide variety of recreational outdoor activities and cool events, such as sled dog racing, atmospheric Christmas markets, New Year´s Eve parties, and fun ski race days, to name but a few. The "after ski" options are incredible and legendary-Sandl has at its heart friendly inns and restaurants where a choice range of refreshments and freshly cooked food is on offer and where visitors are warmly welcomed.

The Sandl Ski Resort

Sandl, the ultimate beginner´s ski resort, is just the right place to try your first tentative shuffles on Alpine or Nordic skis. You´re sure to have a great time learning to ski...

And those who have already mastered the sport especially appreciate the naturally divided nearby terrain, with trails coming to the doors: Three surface lifts service the skiable terrain of 1,112m high Viehberg Mountain. What´s more, winter sports enthusiasts can glide through snow laden forests on meticulously groomed cross country ski trails that cater for all abilities. Those wanting to go burn up some extra energy can take the speedy skating track. And if you need a break from some of the more strenuous winter sports in Sandl, you can take a dip in the local indoor swimming pool--or even rent the whole complex if you like. Outstanding.
