Tulln on the Danube - The most beautiful town of flowers of Europe

Tulln has won the gold medal by the European floral contest "Entente Florale" and now she can name herself "most beautiful town of flowers of Europe".

Tulln and its close relationship to flowers has a long-standing tradition. A flower pageant in 1953, more than fifty years ago, was to mark the beginning of all those activities in Tulln that centre entirely around flowers. This flower pageant was to evolve into a local and international horticultural show. In the course of the decades to come this show developed into the International Horticultural Exhibition, which also was to found the town´s reputation as a "Town of Flowers".

Every year more than 50.000 plants are planted by the town gardeners, who design the public lawns. But more and more citizens take part annually, endeavouring to decorate their front gardens, balconies and window boxes in a loving, careful and almost tender way. Through this wonderful cooperation between the professional gardeners and the citizens as concerns all the floral arrangements, Tulln has been able to win the contest "Lower Austria in Floral Decoration" five times already.

Located on the banks of the Danube, Tulln is a city of parks and by the water located lawns.

Variety under stars

If Tulln´s Donaubühne (Danube Stage) opens her gates, one knows: summer is in the air.

This year´s season offers a especially varied program, which promise music for every preference. The combination of various music program, romantic location and titbits in this place makes the Danube Stage to a special centre of attraction for epicures of art and culture.
