Take a step back in time and admire Kerschbaum´s unforgettable highlight - an original copy of the deluxe carriage belonging to Hannibal II. And it is again in operation! The recently renovated Kerschbaum horse railway stop is located right between Budweis and Linz.

The Freiwald are makes a perfect spot for endless cross country skiing adventures in the heart of nature. A whole network (160 km) of laid tracks between Rainbach i. M., Leopoldschlag, Windhaag, Sandl, Grünbach and Freistadt is awaiting for you! Enjoy winter fun without ski pass and far away from busy tourist centers.

Take a rest in one of the cozy inns along the Nordic trails and get spoiled with hearty snacks and regional delights by the local innkeepers. Ice skating and ice curling, even by night (floodlights!), rank among the very special highlights you should not miss. On cold days mulled wine and other delights are served in the Kaminstüberl pub featuring an open fire place.
