In the last century, Unterach was called "Little Venice". It is situated on the southern shores of Attersee Lake and even today enchants visitors with beautiful villas and mansions that were built during the Golden Age of Unterach at the turn of the century.

The remains of a pile village dating back to the younger Stone Age and Bronze Age have been found here as well.
