Winter in Julbach

Julbach enjoys a pleasant, almost Mediterranean climate, and is a great place to spend relaxing and restful holidays amid surroundings of great natural charm.

The town owes its existence to a mineral spring which was said to have great healing powers. A wooden chapel dedicated to St. Anna was built at the site of the miracle. Recently Julbach has made a name for itself as health resort which focuses on natural remedies.

Hochficht ski area is within easy reach of Julbach and great Nordic skiing is found only a few kilometers away (over 60km of groomed tracks).

A very popular winter sport in Julbach is curling, an outdoor activity that provides fun for the whole family!

Julbach is beautifully located in the Upper Mühlviertel region, the area straddling the borders of Austria, Germany and the Czech Republic. The region’s peace and quiet invite you to relax and unwind.

Thanks to its protected, south-facing location Julbach enjoys a pleasant, almost Mediterranean climate in which exotic plants and fruit trees (especially nut and plum trees) thrive. The pristine surroundings and colorful meadows make for great walking and cycling.

Nature at its best:

A recreation area in a rural setting is rather unique. In the 19th century the Viennese theater director Popp had a beautiful garden laid out here complete with flowers and exotic plants. Today this little park is a wonderful place to while away an afternoon!
