Holidays in Filzmoos

Where is a great place for relaxation when it is extremely hot in the city in summer? Of course, in a small mountain village high up in the mountains! For example in the small community of Filzmoos in Pongau at the foot of the Dachstein mountain at approx. 1000 meters above sea level. In summer, Filzmoos is the ideal starting point for marvellous hiking tours, e.g. to the top of the 2,458 m high Bischofsmütze Peak or for excursions to the Dachstein Glacier, to Schladming or the city of Salzburg. But also in winter the central location of this traditional place offers a lot of possibilities: Skiing holidays in Filzmoos start right at the doorstep as it is located amid the Salzburg sports world and the popular Ski Amadé skiing area!

The family ski resort amid the Amadé Ski World

The small and quiet Filzmoos skiing area is particularly popular among families with children and beginners. If you spend your holidays in Filzmoos, you don’t need a car in order to get to the slopes – the lifts and the ski school are within easy reach. Skiers who are looking for diverse descents will find what they are looking for in Filzmoos as it is located amid the Salzburg Sports World and Ski Amadé. The skiing area with its 270 top modern lifts and more than 750 km of slopes is one of the largest ski resorts in Austria. If you buy a 1 ½-day ski pass for Filzmoos, you automatically have free access to the entire Ski Amadé skiing area. Skiing at the nearby Dachstein Glacier is a very special highlight, especially when there is enough snow. Then you can enjoy great powder snow and fascinating panoramic views. A great hotspot for snowboarders is the Super Park at Dachstein. Cross-country skiers and biathletes, however, will love the Nordic training park.
