INNSBRUCK
The capital city of Tirol can easily be reached within a 15-minute drive. Some 500 years ago it used to be the seat of imperial power of Emperor Maximilian I, who had the famous "Golden Roof" built.
Not only did Innsbruck play host to the Olympic Games (don´t miss out on a visit to the Bergisel ski jump), but it has a lot to offer on the cultural sector, too. The city center alone with its Gothic houses invites to a long, "medieval" walk. The Hofkirche hosts Emperor Maximilian I´s empty sarcophagus, protected by 28 huge bronze statues of renowned figures in history.

boasts 16th-century collections which are known as dependances of the Kunsthistorisches Museums in Vienna.

SEEFELD and MIEMING and STIFT STAMS Convent
You just have to move up the Zirler Berg - and you are right in Seefeld, a popular place among top-ranking celebrities, who meet for an exclusive dinner or a splendid night at the casino. Before leaving you are well-advised to take a walk to the places where the famous Bergdoktor series was taken. And you never know whether you bump into one or the other film star.
But the Tirolean Oberland region has far more to offer for dedicated culture enthusiasts. There is Stift Stams for instance, which was founded in the 13th century and for centuries used to be a religious center. It was embellished in Baroque style, later looted by Napoleon´s troops, and was then converted into a high school with an emphasis on skiing, now known as "Skigymnasium Stams".

CASTLE TRATZBERG
is a Gothic hunting lodge of the Fugger dynasty, set in an elevated location high above the Inntal valley. Since 1848 this treasured gem has been owned by the Earls of Enzenberg. It has been carefully preserved and can therefore be visited from April through October.
LAKE ACHENSEE
A beautiful mountain lake, 9 km in length, embedded between the Rofan and Karwendel mountains. Always worth a detour:

Sport is troef in het recreatieplaatsje Oberperfuss hoog boven het dal van de rivier
de Inn.

Zommer kunnen er wandeltochten en fietstoeren in de naburige wandelgebieden
worden ondernomen,

´s winters is de Rangger Köpfl een verlokking voor alpine-skiers en snowboarders.
