Gerlossteinwand Via Ferrata

The first via ferrata of the Zillertal valley has been opened officially at Gerlossteinwand!

Zell - Gerlos, Zillertal Arena Tirol

The members of the Zell mountain rescue team have invested plenty of lifeblood, sweat and work in the installation of the new Gerlossteinwand via ferrata. More than 450m of steel cable, 300 handholds, 230 ascenders, 150 anchors were used.

The via ferrata is another tourist attraction for nature-loving, active persons of all ages who want to enjoy being amid Tirol's beautiful mountains. With the right equipment and correct handling of the equipment everyone can climb this via ferrata: secured by a steel rope (from start to finish) one climbs along artificial and natural holds and steps through the steep rock face.
