Wintersdorf near Ottenschlag offers many ways to enjoy a day in Mühlviertel´s magnificent backcountry, but few compare to a day of slicing through the wilderness of the Roadlberg Nature Preserve on skis. Snow-permitting, Mr. Franz Keck daily sets fresh tracks for diagonal stride and skating style skiers. And there´s even the option of cross country skiing at night!
Franz Keck has installed a 2K floodlit track on his grounds that meander across scenic wintery woodlands.The quaint on-mountain inn, set at an elevation of 730 meters and operated by Mr. Keck, is the place where a hearty snack tastes just right after the exertion of the day. He pampers cross country skiers, hikers and mountain bikers with mouth-watering specialties prepared with fresh produce from own organic farming. Little ones can romp about the playground on premises. The Roadl-Stüberl Restaurant is open Fridays and Saturdays as of 1:00pm and Sundays as of 10:00am. Apart from the versatile cross country ski terrain, Mr. Franz Keck has established a state-of-the-art mountain bike track together with his racing son Carlos. This track is open to any mountain biker who feels ready to take the challenge. What´s more, the track regularly plays host to thrilling mountain bike races, such as the Austria Cup event in the autumn.
