Herzogsburg - Country's museum

In this museum you can visit a collection of old fire extinguishers, a documentation of the city's history, an art gallery with works of artists from Braunau and the Innviertel as well as the crèche with more than 200 figures.
Opening hours: Tuesday to Saturday from 01.00 pm to 05.00 pm, July and August additionally from 09.00 am to 12.00 am.

Bell foundry - Braunau's local heritage museum

The bell foundry is an architecturally very interesting manufacturing house, which is preserved in its original state. The bell foundry dates back to the year 1385.
Today's local heritage museum accommodates the rich collection of the association "Alt-Braunau" - here you can also find the "Heimatstube der Donauschwaben".

Vorderbad - medieval bath-house

In Braunau you can visit one of the few well preserved public baths. Nowadays you can visit the ancient bath as museum; the archaeological confirmation is presented via modern media.
Opening hours: Tuesday to Saturday 10.00 am to 05.00 pm. Groups please notify in advance.

Enjoy shopping in downtown's small and pretty shops or at the new shopping centres City Center (Erlachweg) and Inn Park (Bauhofstraße) and relax in between in one of the comfortable cafes, bars and restaurants.

Today's cultural house of Braunau and meeting point of the cultural scene was originally founded as a factory producing fire extinguishers in 1781. Experience one of the special shows and afterwards enjoy the ambiance in the Gugg-Lounge.

Ranshofen
Within a stone's throw from Braunau (~4 km) you can marvel at the ancient Augustinian convent of canons. The convent and the Minster were founded in 1125 under the Bavarian duke Henri IX and on the occasion of the church's 800 years of existence redecorated to baroque. Some important Bavarian artists created the church's equipment and decoration.
